Swami Swahananda was the head of The Vedanta Society of Southern California from 1976 until his death in 2012. He is the author of a number of books, including Vedanta and Vivekananda, Vedanta and Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda's Concept of Service. He is also the translator of Pancadasi of Sri Vidyaranya Swami.
