Mantram Handbook, The

by Eknath Easwaren
  • 220 pages, US paperback
This is a basic book on the practice of meditation by the founder of the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation. It is a practical hands-on book on an important practice.

The author's approach is that with the help of the mantram, we can learn how to thrive under stress, beat depression, harness negative emotions such as anger and fear. The mantram can help us to regain our natural energy and confidence.

The author was not in the traditional sense a guru, and some aspects of his teachings are not the same as those of us within the Ramakrishna tradition. Still, this is a noteworthy book that has inspired many people.

Formerly titled "The Unstruck Bell."
