Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj is widely revered teacher, especially with devotees of Ramana Maharshi and the path of self-enquiry. At the age of 33, he experienced the highest truth of non-duality. He left his family to renounce the world in the Indian tradition, but a brother-disciple convinced him that he should pursue his spiritual life while living with his family

He thus returned to his family and supported them by selling cigarettes from a tiny stall. Mind you, as an illumined soul and householder, he lived the truth, attracting disciples from all over the world.
