The story of the disciple of Ramakrishna who was to become the third president of the Ramakrishna Order. He was greatly respected for his service to the poor as an act of worship to God.
The story itself is interesting about how Akhandananda's brother monks tried to get Akhandananda to return to the Math since he couldn't feed the thousands of hungry people waiting in need. But the swami refused to return. Finally, Swami Vivekananda interceded and wrote to him,
"Bravo, my hero! Victory to the guru! Go on with your work! Leave it to me to supply the funds."
