Swami Abhedananda brought out this translation in 1907 when he lived in the USA. Since it was printed, the book has gone through several titles, Gospel of Ramakrishna, Memories of Ramakrishna. and currently, Ramakrishna Kathamritta. This is the first Gospel in English and includes M's own English translation, with additional translation by Swami Abhedananda, who was a disciple of Ramakrishna.

Compared to the Nikhilananda translation brought out many years later, this version is completely different. It is not as polished and not a large book, but it is still a favorite of many people.
