The issue of Consciousness remains a major challenge for the human intellect. Eminent philosophers and scientists have been exploring consciousness for years, yet it still remains, to an extent, elusive. This book contains papers read out at an International Seminar on Consciousness held at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture in January, 2010.

Representatives from Hinduism, Sufism, Buddhism and Christianity are included, as well as from the sciences.
