Sw. Abhedananda was one of the original disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. He is closely associated with the birth and growth of the early Vedanta movement in America from 1897 to 1921. Almost forgotten today, he drew thousands to his lectures,all attracted by a powerful spiritual presence and towering intellect. Later swamis in America used his writings on a wide variety of spiritual topics as an inspiration and guide for their own lectures
The eleven volumes include a huge amount of material on many spiritual subjects including karma, reincarnation, spiritualism, and of course, the yogas.

Excellent Masterpiece

I have always wanted to buy this set of books by Swami Abhedananda. For some reason or other I did not do so until now. I am very glad I did now. It is a masterly disposition of the science of Vedanta from a direct disciple of the Great Master and a colleague of Swami Vivekananda. I am just reading the first volume and I am beginning to understand and appreciate the science of Vedanta better. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in the eastern philosophy of Vedana to read this masterpiece to get a better idea of the concept. Of course I also recommend reading the Complete works of Swami Vivekananda, the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna and Sankara's Bhagavad Gita and Vivekachudamani.
