Swami Vivekananda was the first to use the words: Sri Ramakrishna's Religion.According to R.K. Dasgupta, what was meant was not a new religion, but a new outlook on religion as exemplified by the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna. In these twelve lectures, Dr. Dasgupta follows Swami Vivekananda in showing that Sri Ramakrishna was a living illustration of the Religion Eternal. His life and teachings were a guide to the understanding of the plan and purpose of all the religions of the world and their underlying truth and harmony.

Dr. R.K. Dasgupta has been Swami Vivekananda Professor of Indological Studies and Indological Research at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Calcutta, since April 1994.
