Bhagavad Gita (Chidbhavananda)
For Sanskrit students, this book is popular since it includes Devanagri text, transliterated Sanskrit, comprehensive breakdown of compound words, word-by-word meanings, English translation, and commentary from Sri Ramakrishna's teachings by Swami Chidbhavananda.
The publishers in India have kept this book very inexpensive for many years, but note that the production quality, though good, is not the same as books from the west. Some of the books have covers with a wrinkled lamination, or the cover may be a little bent. Nonetheless, the books are well worth inclusion in the libraries of students of Sanskrit and the Bhagavad Gita.

Bhagavad Gita (Chidbhavananda)

By Thomas Klugh
For the past 36 years I've been reading the Gita from the point of view of dualists, that is, from the point of view of those who profess to hold God as both personal AND impersonal but in actuality they lean more toward God as being separate from us.
I know they mean well, but oftentimes they (the dualists) get a bit acerbic, if not out-and-out vitriolic, in their opinions of those who follow the Monist path. But as it's said in First Corinthians, if they preach without love, then all their "powers" are for naught.
It's refreshing to now read a version of the Gita from the Monist point-of-view. And, having just recently read Sri Ramakrishna's Gospel (and the unabridged 1,000+ page Gospel at that!), it's nice to see all the references in this Gita to Sri Ramakrishna.
I love this edition of the Gita and highly recommend it to all seekers everywhere.

I would recommend Bhagavat-Gita As It Is by Swami Prabhupada instead
