Swami Prabhavananda was the founder and head of the Vedanta Society of Southern California for over 50 years. He was a disciple of Swami Brahmanananda, and had a close association with many of the disciples of Ramakrishna during his younger years.

He passed away at the Hollywood center on July 4, 1976. His legacy includes several major Vedanta center, plus the many lectures and classes that we are gradually releasing.
