Religion In Practice

by Swami Prabhavananda
Foreword by Christopher Isherwood

Swami Prabhavananda spoke and lived in the United States for over 50 years. The talks as collected in this book show he was completely familiar with the western mind and the problems that we as westerners have to deal with.

In Religion in Practice the swami discuses:
Man and God
The Problem of Evil
The Goal of Life
Happiness
Perfection
Samadhi or Transcendental Consciousness
The Mind -- It's Powers and Usage
Control of the Subconscious Mind
Overcoming Obstacles in Spiritual Life

The swami then answers the 26 most common questions he has encountered during his years of teaching in America, including:

If God is so good, why is there evil?
What is the role of sex in religion?
What is your opinion of drugs?
Is it wrong to eat meat?
How can we believe that God loves us?

A beautifully written book with a thorough insight into the problems and obstacles that naturally comes during a journey on the spiritual path. Very logical and scientific approach.

This book has turned my life around and gave me a spiritual rebirth.

Of course Swami Prabhavananda's work is superb in its information on spirituality, but it also has his aura of divine Love and the Spirit which comes out to the reader. Wonderful text.

One thing, I have ordered two copies, both have broken at the spine at the first reading. Maybe your publisher should be notified.
