This is an excellent introduction to the practice of Karma, Bhakti, Jnana, and Raja yoga.

The teachings were originally given to a small group of Americans in Chicago, and have the feel of a lively talk, punctuated with stories from India and the author's personal experiences with the disciples of Ramakrishna.

The swami founded the Vivekananda Vedanta Society in Chicago many years ago. He had the nickname of "Joe Bliss" by the many students who loved him.
