The Yoga of Chant captures the heart of the ancient tradition of kirtan (chanting) which is an integral part of Bhakti Yoga. Interspersed throughout, Krishna Das discusses the power of chant and it's effectiveness as a daily practice.
The Yoga of Chant also features new music as well as chants from Krishna Das's catalogue performed live including a new prayer from the Zen Buddhist canon, "Konronmon (Gates Of Sweet Nectar)" which flows into a new version of the "Hanuman Chaleesa."
The DVD version of The Yoga of Chant features 25 minutes of exclusive footage, including a behind-the-scenes look at the making
of "Breath Of The Heart CD", (complete with interviews with Krishna Das, producer Rick Rubin and Beastie Boy Mike D.), a yoga postures demonstration and a meditation led by renowned teacher Sharon Salzburg.
Late addition as of March 16, 2006, the DVD has been greatly revised and now includes a feature documentary of Krishnadas with interviews and concerts. Thus there are two documentaries on the DVD- one: One Life At A Time and The Yoga of Chant which is the title of the previous version of the DVD.
