Letters of Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda

These letters of Swami Vivekananda are the reflections of his mind. We can only imagine the intense effect they had on the recipient of the letter, some teasing and playful, others dead serious, all of them filled with his intense spiritual fervor. You can see a picture of Vivekananda here that is untouched by any biographer. A first-hand look of a dynamic soul.

Excerpt: "Liberty is the first condition of growth. Just as man must have liberty to think and speak, so must he have liberty in food, dress, and marriage, and in every other thing as long as he does not injure others."

Some of the letters here are amazing. You won't believe the depth of feeling found, or the wisdom that flows from the letters.

Not all of the letters are great, so you have to ignore some since they are simply not interesting. But overall, this book offers an interesting journey into the mind and heart of Swami Vivekananda.
